Yep, just like the Republicans suddenly decided that bailouts were bad and Tea Parties were good. they had no use for those ideas during the election and mocked Ron Paul and his supporters. Health Care is bad, but good when they were in charge.
Neither party as any principles. Just win, win, win, and grow the government when they are in power.
Libertas, Tea parties are nothing new. The organization, Taxed Enough Already (T.E.A.) has been around for years. Their protests are also nothing new. The organization isn't accociated with any political party. As for Ron Paul, you have to admit the guy invites mocking.Conservatives have always been against the bailouts, also nothing new. However the Republican party has moved away from it's conserservative values over the last few years. Why become a Libertarian, the party that's far more liberal than even the Democrats on most issues, especially social issues, immigration and amnesty for desserters? Yeah, yeah yeah they say they are for small government and the 2nd amendment but I will bet if they could gain power that power would also corrupt them.
Ahhhh Greg; this is fabulous. I do love how you draw the icons of the parties in such a way that you don't even look and think "Donkey" or "Elephant" first...
I try to redirect the viewer from the obvious politics of "symbolic tagging " . Make the animals as human as possile and the viewer / reader will self connect to one , or the other , in thought or action .
The latest cartoons and continued adventures of
G.D.Rico....
When the Sacramento Union recently closed its doors, award-winning artist, Greg Rico, started looking for a new outlet to express his creativity. Greg’s classical training in fine arts and illustration-combined with his penetrating political insight and sardonic sense of humor-naturally lent itself to the world of the cartoon.
Greg’s extensive travels as the proud son of a Navy Purple-Heart Vet have helped to form his deep-rooted conservative values and sincere love of family. A man who loves a good meal and a great story, classic cars and all-things aviation, his many friends agree that no one loves a joke or a prank more than Greg. And as long as there are Republicans and Democrats in Washington making fools of themselves—Greg Rico will always have an excellent source of material.
Greg currently resides in the greater Sacramento area with his three children.
